What’s changing from 16th February
Explorer was originally designed to give broad access while we were building The Portfolio Collective.
As the platform and community have grown, we’re refocusing Explorer on discovery and Pioneer on active participation and growth.
Explorer membership (free) will include:
Basic member profile (name, bio, profile picture, location)
Any additional profile information you’ve previously added will be removed after the deadline.
Access to all articles and insights
Ability to search for content
Explorer will no longer include:
Posting, messaging, or connecting with other members
Access to the Collective Hub and groups
Most community events
Community search functionality
Pioneer (£5/month) gives our members full access to the entire platform and community.

Why are we making this change?
For over five years, The Portfolio Collective has existed to support people navigating portfolio careers.
But as this movement grows, the cost of running TPC properly has grown too – platform, programming, community and support all require real investment.
From 16th February, we’re updating our membership structure to keep this movement growing.
Pioneer (£5/month) allows us to do that, while keeping Explorer as a way for people to get started for free.

Yes! We’ll still have our Explorer membership available for free, with access to articles and some introductory workshops, so that you can learn about portfolio careers before you launch yours!
If you’re considering a portfolio career, want to learn faster and build your pipeline of opportunities, then you are ready for Pioneer. Most future opportunities will come to you due to your personal brand and network. This is where Pioneer will help most.
Yes, you can. If you decide to cancel your membership after you’ve already been charged for the month, we cannot refund that payment. However, you’ll still have access for the remainder of the period that you paid for. When you cancel a paid Pioneer membership, we automatically switch you onto our free Explorer tier.
We have tried to keep it as affordable and accessible as possible, while ensuring that we don’t lose money every time we support our members. Think of it as a portfolio career supercharger, for the price of a coffee! With multiple events per month, endless networking opportunities, on-demand learning plus partner discounts, we think this offers excellent value.
