Baselinker – an international provider of e-commerce integration for businesses – one of the largest globally and the undisputed leader in Poland and the CEE region, seeks a dynamic professional to lead its new operations in the DACH region.

Baselinker is a private equity-backed (Kulczyk Investments, a family office) leader providing e-commerce integration solutions for businesses. Its solutions include order management, product warehousing, marketplace management, shipping management, workflow automation, and other additional options. Baselinker serves marketplaces and internet shops, including Amazon, eBay, Shopify, Woocomerce, Magento, etc. Baselinker has more than 18,000 active paying subscribers. The company is one of the largest globally in terms of a number of users.

Headquartered in Poland, Warsaw, Baselinker has four independently-run offices across the globe (Brazil, Czech Republic, Romania).

E-commerce players (merchants) are Baselinker’s acquisition target base. The sales model is B2B in the SaaS domain, where Baselinker targets sellers with proprietary SaaS solutions that helps them scale up, automate and optimise their businesses.

Currently, Baselinker is experiencing exponential growth and is scaling globally. They have made new M&A acquisitions and grown the team significantly (team size 3x growth in 12 months) – already exceeding 100 professionals.

The company is looking for a UK MD that will report to the investors and will be responsible for a country P&L. With a large and growing base of e-commerce merchants and fragmented nature of the UK market it is a prime target for solutions like BaseLinker.

E-commerce players are BaseLinker’s acquisition target base. The sales model for BaseLinker is B2(small)B, where the company is targeting e-shops with proprietary SaaS solutions that help the shops scale-up, automate and optimise, thus increasing sales, increasing efficiency and decreasing the room for error.


The role

The MD will be responsible to develop a viable go to market strategy and its realisation. The candidate must be self-motivated, positive, energised with entrepreneurial spirit; someone who takes responsibility, and first and foremost is passionate about sales and developing a successful growth story. Success will be measured by the scale up success and overall revenue performance.


Key responsibilities

  • Close cooperation with the founding and executive team in Poland to develop a comprehensive sales strategy and plan
  • Playing a leading role in the company business development, the face and growth engine of BaseLinker on the UK market
  • Sharp focus on launching and scaling up BaseLinker’s business case, i.e. linking small e- commerce players to market-places, automating processes and avoiding unnecessary steps in the sales process
  • Building local sales team when appropriate
  • Building up community of “fans” as a base for further referencing


Must haves

  • Familiar with ecommerce merchants’ target group with at least 5-8 years of Sales / MD experience
  • Deep understanding of e-commerce environment in the UK
  • Understanding of SME client base
  • Experience with scaling up sales organization
  • Energetic, entrepreneurial person, with ownership mentality


Nice to have:

  • Ideal candidate comes with an experience with acquiring merchants for market-places, launching new / competitive service that support e-commerce ecosystem and/or scaling up similar to BaseLinker business case

Remuneration
