Chief of Staff

Gallos

Background

GALLOS invests in and co-builds early-stage (pre-Seed through to Series B) technology companies, focusing on key sectors including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data analytics,  sensors, and autonomous systems (UAVs).

GALLOS has assembled a world-class team with decades of nation-state-level security experience as well as deep investment and commercialisation know-how. The GALLOS team supports the companies it invests in by bringing unique security, science, technology, and commercial optimisation expertise, underpinned by highly-connected, patient capital at scale.

GALLOS has several valuable differentiators including its unique view of the needs and the technologies to help commercial and governmental organisations manage the systemic security challenges they face. Specifically, GALLOS enjoys proprietary access to unique deal flow and highly expert human capital thanks to our deep connectivity within established networks in the UK and the US  especially.

The Role

GALLOS’s latest Build project is focused on AI Security and is being developed in partnership with a major commercial-first customer. The project team is currently comprised of exceptional product, technology and strategy experts who are leading in their respective areas and the project requires a coordinating Chief of Staff to provide coherence, momentum, and direction.

Reporting to and supporting a CEO who is currently being hired, this role will be high impact and results-focused, supporting the project through its lifecycle with GALLOS through build and proof of concept, targeting eventual establishment as a stand-alone UK-based security technology start-up.

Key Areas of responsibility will include:

  • Rapidly onboarding into and understanding both the GALLOS Technologies Build process and the current project so that you may take a leading role in coordinating and managing the project.
  • Working with the project technical delivery team to ensure that the project’s first proof-of-concept with our commercial partner (a leading Law Firm)  is conducted on time, to budget, and to all extents possible, successfully.
  • Supported by the wider Build team, owning, and developing the “GALLOS Build” investment proposal case, advocating for the project to the “GALLOS Build” investment committee where the project may receive company Series Seed funding, enabling it to become a stand-alone venture.
  • Supporting the eventual CEO and other members of the Senior leadership team in developing the business case, financial forecasts, processes, and policies and supporting the talent and recruitment process of key team members until such a time there is dedicated HR support.
  • Supporting the eventual CEO and other members of the senior leadership team in successfully establishing the project as a company, including leading on operational and administrative aspects of the company’s establishment and the onboarding of a team.
  • Continuing to support the project through its transition from a pre-seed/seed stage venture backed company to the successful completion of its series A capital raise and beyond.

Requirements

  • Previous strong and demonstrable experience as a Chief of Staff, operations lead, or programme lead within a tech organisation during a product build.
  • A proven track record of delivering complex and high-profile projects within either a governmental or private-sector context.
  • Experience building business cases, and presenting to investment committees or actively involved in fundraising activities including writing pitch decks, modelling etc.
  • Proven experience scoping and developing commercial and partnership proposals, alongside contract negotiation.
  • The ability to demonstrate adaptability, flexibility, and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and keeping them focused on high-calibre delivery of shared missions and goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management and high EQ
  • A keen desire to learn and grow with a process and organisation and to see AI score move from concept stage to being a successful revenue-generating company heading towards its successful Series A funding raise and high-profile client list.

Desirable

  • Previous experience within an early-stage organisation and supporting it through its growth.
  • Experience within an AI-focused organisation.
  • A keen interest in cutting-edge technologies and their application to current corporate challenges.
  • Law or Financial Industry experience

Time Requirement
