E-Commerce Director, Vaping Startup


This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing and established vaping company with a mission to foster positive change by helping smokers to quit.

They are looking for an E-commerce director to accelerate online growth, maximize the omnichannel experience and oversee website launches into other countries and markets.

This role will have overall responsibility of all E-commerce platforms and be responsible for meeting the needs of each brand’s business objectives and build a foundation for future acquisitions and growth into new categories.

They will also accelerate the digital marketing activity, especially in SEO, Social and CRM to deliver consistent and personalised user experiences for new and existing customers.

The role will be fully in charge of all aspects of the E-commerce business with P&L ownership and direct line responsibility for the Marketing, Web Development, E-commerce and Social Media teams.

Job Overview

The successful E-commerce Director will:

  • Set and deliver a business plan for all existing and future websites
  • Deliver a clear vision for the team structure and partners to support the aggressive growth targets and integration of potential acquisitions
  • Manage the e-commerce team to deliver on KPIs and daily best excellence
  • Develop a content strategy for social in line with brand, community and promotional activity of the business
  • Work closely with buying to coordinate product launches and best category management
  • Oversee and ensure smooth delivery of website and omnichannel developments
  • Work with 3rd party agencies as required on digital marketing to increase traffic and cross-references to the site
  • Continuously look to improve customer journey and mobile experience to drive conversation rate
  • Implement traffic and customer segmentation for better personalization and strong CRM
  • Enhance the digital sales ecosystem, looking at further revenue streams such as subscriptions and online marketplaces (Amazon, Ebay)

About You

  • Have a proven track record of launching multiple sites and having achieved significant revenue growth
  • Be well versed in D2C e-commerce propositions and all things digital
  • Have significant experience with Magento/Magento 2.0
  • Be ambitious and hungry with the energy to make things happen
  • Be a strong team leader, able to hire, coach and mentor great ecommerce talent
  • Fit in as a team player in a dynamic business able to communicate effectively at different levels
  • Look for continuous improvement to drive KPIs
  • Have experience working with web development and marketing agencies and understand how to maximize returns from these 3rd party agencies

Working hours can be arranged flexibly to suit the candidate’s needs and living circumstances. Work can either be office-based or remote with weekly/monthly meetings.
