The Opportunity

We are seeking a full-time Chief of Staff to work directly with the CEO and leadership team to drive strategic initiatives, strengthen operations, and scale Deeptech Labs’ impact across funds, programmes, and portfolio ventures.

This is a pivotal senior role within the organisation, providing structure, coordination, and strategic support across the business. You will act as a multiplier for leadership effectiveness—turning ideas into action, aligning teams around key priorities, while also ensuring smooth delivery across our investment and accelerator activities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Operations and Delivery

● Lead planning and execution of organisational priorities, OKRs, and cross-functional initiatives.

● Establish and manage leadership operating rhythms, including quarterly planning, board preparation, and review cycles.

● Identify bottlenecks and drive operational improvements across investment, programme, and operational teams.

● Support development of new fund and partnership initiatives with universities, corporates, and government agencies.

Executive and Organisational Support

● Partner with the CEO to manage strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, and project follow-up.

● Prepare board and investor materials, internal briefings, and leadership updates.

● Take ownership of key strategic projects and new initiatives, particularly those that require early-stage execution before dedicated teams are in place.

Systems and Process Improvement

● Improve organisational systems for clarity, accountability, and reporting.

● Develop internal playbooks and documentation to support efficient team operations.

● Coordinate with legal, finance, and external service providers to ensure effective governance and compliance across entities.

Platform and Portfolio Support

● Collaborate with the Programme Director and investment team to support programme delivery, demo days, and investor-facing events.

● Maintain up-to-date portfolio data, reporting, and performance tracking across the fund and accelerator.

● Facilitate cross-portfolio learning, communication, and resource sharing.

External Stakeholder Engagement

● Support investor relations and partnership management with corporates, universities, and ecosystem partners.

● Prepare presentations, board documents, investor updates, and speaking materials for leadership.

● Help manage Deeptech Labs’ external profile through events, communications, and public engagements.

About you

Ideal Profile

● 4–8+ years of experience in startups, consulting, venture capital, or innovation leadership.

● Exceptional EQ and interpersonal skills.

● Demonstrated success in strategic project delivery and operational execution.

● Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills.

● Ability to work across multiple workstreams, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

● Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-autonomy environment.

● Deep alignment with Deeptech Labs’ mission to support transformative deep technology ventures.

Desirable Experience

● Experience in venture capital, startup acceleration, or research commercialisation.

● Understanding of investment processes, portfolio reporting, or fund operations.

● Strong digital and collaboration tool skills (e.g. Notion, ChatGPT, AI tools, Attio, GSuite).
