At Zuhlke UK, I was instrumental in growing engineering and consulting teams from approx. 40 to 120 individuals, all while maintaining a strong culture. I played a key role in developing leaders, and enhancing essential internal processes like recruiting, onboarding, and performance evaluation.
I played a pivotal role in establishing and growing the Zuhlke Group's nearshore location in Sofia, Bulgaria. Managing the staffing of client engagements, my team and I leveraged nearshore delivery capabilities from Serbia, Bulgaria, and Portugal to drive strategic growth across the Zuhlke Group.
In a staffing management capacity, I assembled the international team that built the NHS UK Covid-19 app, comprising up to 85 individuals from diverse engineering and consulting disciplines. The app literally saved lives (see the link to a Nature magazine article).
Volunteering at the Federal Agency for Technical Relief
I served as the leader of a salvage group in Germany's THW, where I underwent comprehensive training in civil protection, disaster response, and search & rescue operations. I oversaw the training and operational readiness of the group, and led them during exercises and emergency callouts.
After taking over a project that had been unsuccessful for about four years, I led a distributed team of 25 engineers and business analysts, many offshore, to regain stakeholders' trust and deliver high-value software into production for the first time, laying the foundation for future deliveries.
