Being part of The Portfolio Collective has given me language for something I’ve been living for years — building a career with intention, curiosity and impact.
My journey hasn’t been linear.
25 years ago, I was deep in the fashion industry.
8 years ago, I turned my back on it completely and started again from scratch — moving into food, drink and supplements, driven by a desire to empower people to live fuller, healthier lives through nutrition.
But along the way, I realised something important.
Food is foundational — but it’s only one piece of the puzzle.
Through education and lived experience, I discovered just how interconnected the body and mind really are. Movement. Stress. Sleep. These aren’t “nice to haves” — they’re fundamental to balance, energy and long-term wellbeing.
That realisation has shaped my next chapter.

Today we’re not feeling quite so festive because it is the wonderful Jane O'Sullivan’s last day at TPC 😭
Employee number 1, her attention to detail, enquiring mind and insane Miro skills will be sorely missed – she has seen us through from early inception to our exciting plans for 2026 and has been such a valuable and kind voice all the way! Thinking back to the panel discussion at the Portfolio Career Festival, it would be interesting to learn more about the data security bit here – dealing with people’s personal information and private conversations is interesting territory

Hi everyone, I’m new to this platform. I wanted to ask fractional/freelance marketing folks, how are you finding clients? I’ve been in B2B tech marketing for 20 years but I want to work with purpose driven businesses/ not tech/AI/Block Chain so my existing network is not useful.
I would love it if you can share specific details, not general tips that I already know and do like ”reach out to LinkedIn contacts.”

In general we always say that your network is your greatest asset, so if your current group of connections isn’t doing it for you, then work on expanding your reach and don’t forget that even those who don’t seem immediately relevant might have referrals to make, so don’t totally discount them!

Hi Dana Salman – echoing the advice from the TPC Team, networking is key, especially after 20 years of B2B experience. I have seen companies lean heavily toward hiring senior-level candidates from within the industry. I suggest attending ESG conferences and events to start building relationships. Just like B2B sales, it can be a slow slug cycle – so be patient. The other suggestion I have is to consider not giving up B2B tech altogether, but to separate the two: B2B or Tech roles in…
