Summary
Digital People International is seeking a senior analyst to support its founder, Ben Legg, with research, analysis and thought leadership for corporate boards, investors, global news outlets and conference organisers. You will help Ben provide unique insights, trend data and forecasts on digital advertising, social media and e-commerce.
About the role
The role will typically involve around 5-10 hours a week, with peaks and troughs depending on the time of year. There will be weekly/twice-weekly 1:1 calls with Ben. In this role, you will also have access to James Shrager, who did this job previously, as a mentor and sounding board.
The work can be divided into two broad categories:
- Quarterly reporting: gathering data and insights from the quarterly earnings releases from top companies like Meta, Netflix, Amazon, Google, Snap
- Thought leadership: supporting Ben with in-depth research across topics he is both passionate about and also being asked questions about by investors. For example, he is currently working on what the Future of Advertising could look like, including why it will grow faster than GDP, how big the industry could grow to, plus who the winners and losers will be.
Experience
There is no “ideal candidate” for this role so if you are excited by it and believe you’ve got the experience then we would encourage you to apply. However, there are a few things that you would need to demonstrate, including:
- Experience in an analytical role, where you will have conducted research and analysis to inform a viewpoint on the future
- High proficiency in building complex financial models
- Ability to be proactive and manage your own time and workload
- Structured problem solver
- Excellent attention to detail
- Enthusiastic and interested in digital advertising, social media and e-commerce
Remuneration and next steps
This role offers £30-40 p/h, depending on experience. There is also the scope for additional work via Ben, either for The Portfolio Collective (TPC) or with TPC clients and members.
