The Role

Instinct Digital is seeking a Chief of Staff to support its next phase of growth and professionalization following a recent £5 million investment. As the company continues to scale, we need a dynamic leader who can work closely with the founder to refine our strategic direction, enhance operational efficiency, and drive key initiatives that will accelerate our expansion into new markets like the US.

In this pivotal role, you will coordinate cross-functional teams, streamline business processes, and ensure smooth execution of our growth strategy. Your expertise in financial modelling and data analysis will help guide strategic decisions, while your ability to manage complex projects across multiple departments will be critical to meeting our ambitious goals. You will also play a key part in building partnerships, supporting fundraising efforts, and exploring new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Work with the founder to allocate £5 million in funding and develop growth strategies, including market expansion and product improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership and Coordination: Lead cross-functional teams in finance, operations, and product to align business goals and ensure timely project execution.
  • Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement: Identify process improvements and implement technologies that scale operations, enhance productivity, and reduce costs.
  • Financial Reporting and Business Analysis: Prepare detailed financial reports and updates for leadership, evaluating the success of key initiatives and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Business Development and Partnership Expansion: Evaluate and negotiate partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions to support growth, conducting competitive analysis to guide strategy.
  • Fundraising and Stakeholder Management: Support fundraising efforts, maintaining relationships with investors and communicating progress to key stakeholders.
  • International Expansion Strategy: Lead expansion efforts into new markets, particularly the US, analyzing market dynamics and local regulations.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects and Executive Support: Take ownership of high-priority projects, offering insights and assisting leadership in strategic decisions.

 

Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Chief of Staff or similar role, managing strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects in a fast-growing company.
  • A strong track record of delivering complex projects across departments like finance and operations in fast-paced environments.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and drive operational improvements that support company growth.
  • Expertise in financial modeling and data analysis, with experience preparing reports and insights for leadership.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a high level of emotional intelligence (EQ).
  • Adaptable and skilled at solving problems in dynamic startup settings.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in early-stage startups, with involvement in fundraising and investor relations.
  • Knowledge of international expansion strategies, especially in markets like the US.
  • Experience in investment management and reporting solutions for business decision-making.

 

Remuneration

The salary for this role is likely to be around £100,000 per year, depending on experience.

 

Working arrangements

We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements, depending on the needs of the candidate.

 

Hiring process

The candidate will be interviewed by the CTO, Head of Operations, Head of Sales, and the CEO. The candidate may also need to complete a numeracy test.
