General Scope of Role:
Reporting to the CEO, but a part of a four-person senior management team for 21Six Platform Ltd, who operate collaboratively to manage the businesses in the group. This group will be Matthew Sherry (CEO), Matt Sayward (CSO), and Ali Griffin (CCO). This is a full-time Maternity Cover position for up to a maximum of 12 months
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Operations
- Ultimate responsibility for implementing the new organisational structure across Platform Media and Folding Pocket.
- Work closely with the Group Head of Finance to implement the correct reporting structures to oversee the business’ financial performance on a macro and micro level.
- Create KPIs across all business departments and work with line managers to build live dashboards.
- Work with both Platform Media and Folding Pocket MDs to develop their skills and create an understanding of the business’ performance, particularly financial.
- Regularly speak to key stakeholders of each business and at a 21Six Investment Ltd level to understand bottlenecks and areas creating friction points between departments.
- Assess all systems and software used across the company; identify wastage and suggest a streamlined approach.
- Identify beneficial and affordable software solutions that can match the growth trajectory of the business needs.
- Design and implement strategies, plans, and procedures, considering the different businesses’ functions, and working with company MDs to implement these elements.
- Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of executives across marketing, sales, ops, HR, and events.
- Evaluate performance by establishing a method to analyse and interpret data and metrics.
- Facilitate the task of data mapping the business to provide a detailed report on our current data management and protection methods.
- Line Management of head of production ops
- Ensure all soft and hard skill training in line with government legislation and company policy is rolled our effectively across the business.
- Maintain a good working relationship with the 21Six Group Ltd Head of IT and work with them to ensure best practices throughout the business.
Recruitment
- Oversee the management of a database of trusted freelancers, expanding the pool if/when needed according to internal processes and replying to new freelancer inquiries.
- Overseeing the on- and offboarding process for all new full-time, fixed contract and freelance people.
- Oversee the posting of new roles to LinkedIn and monitor incoming applicants, via line management of the head of production operations.
Health & Safety
- Keeping ourselves and our colleagues safe is paramount, and we expect you to adhere to all company policies and guidelines and lead by example.
- Ensure all of the 21Six Platform Ltd team are trained to handle emergency situations in line with Company Fire and Health & Safety procedures
- To promote and encourage environmental improvement initiatives as appropriate within the business and in line with Company requirements.
Communication
- To actively participate in meetings both internally and externally where appropriate
- To actively work with other areas of the 21six Investments group seeking out ideas for improvements, feedback, and suggestions for development.

Requirements:
Essentials
- 8+ years of professional experience
- 3+ years in management consulting, or similar fast-paced analytical roles
- Experience building, scaling and managing teams of A-players
- Project management experience, including leading cross-functional projects in a rapidly growing startup or scaleup
- Experience managing finances in a startup or equivalent
- 2:1 degree or higher in a STEM subject from a top-tier university
- Ability/desire to dive-in and learn about new industries quickly
Desirable
- Direct experience in the media industry
- Strong desire to become an essential part of a rapidly growing company in a strong leadership role over time
- Previous COO experience in a similar stage company
