VP, Operations

CloudNC

About us

CloudNC is building the factory of the future. We’re a pioneering team on a mission to completely automate the world’s Computer Numerical Control (CNC) factories with our groundbreaking AI software, making manufacturing more efficient, sustainable, and scalable. Our flagship product, CAM Assist, is already revolutionising CNC systems by autonomously writing the code to run such machines in minutes.

Join us in shaping the future of the business

We have a significant opportunity to drive improvements across the business and transform how we engage customers. We believe in technology-enabled ways of working: great processes, culture, and teams, supported by data, automation, and AI. Our goal is to remove busywork so people can focus on the highest-impact activities that drive productivity, growth, quality, and innovation.

The opportunity

We are looking for a VP, Operations — a senior, hands-on leader to come in, initially as an individual contributor, and acting as the COO’s proxy for critical projects around the business.

Your mission is to identify and deliver value creation opportunities — whether through new technologies such as new tools, automation, and AI, or changes to the way we currently work, such as process improvements, and organisational design. This is a brand-new role with massive opportunity for impact and your chance to be a key leader in defining the future of CloudNC.

Your initial focus will be on our go-to-market (GTM) functions. This is a high-visibility role with significant autonomy from day one. You will be responsible for:

  • Serving as the COO’s right hand on cross-functional operational initiatives.
  • Designing and implementing value creation drivers (e.g., process improvement, KPIs, operating rhythms, data, automation, and AI).
  • Driving exceptional customer interactions throughout their journey.
  • Coordinating and leading cross-functional projects (e.g., product launches, region entry).
  • “Dropping in” to the most important area at any time to unblock, standardise and accelerate outcomes.

You will initially be an individual contributor, reporting directly to and partnering closely with the COO and other functional leaders. Within 12 months, you will have driven such significant change and operational improvement that you will have assumed full ownership of this remit, freeing the COO to focus on other strategic priorities.

What we are looking for

You love to execute — while others debate strategy, you’ve already run experiments and shipped results. You set the pace and lead from the front. You enjoy working with stakeholders at all levels; no job is too big or too small.

You are technology-literate who considers modern tools (e.g., SaaS platforms, data, automation, and AI) as a core part of your problem-solving toolkit and have used them to deliver meaningful improvements across organisations. We don’t expect an engineer, but you’re hands-on with technology and unafraid to test, tweak and learn whatever’s needed to move things forward.

You may have been a startup founder-operator or an early-stage No.1 / No.2 Ops leader who has thrived in resource-constrained environments. We also welcome scrappy and hands-on operators from more traditional environments who’ve delivered 0 to 1 improvements under constraints. Whatever your background, you’ve consistently scaled outcomes through better process, clear metrics, and smart use of technology.

  • Essential Experience & Competencies
    • Scrappy Operator: You’ve owned cross-functional operations and delivered measurable outcomes (e.g., stood up revenue Ops from scratch, implemented automation solutions that improved key processes) in a resource-constrained environment.
    • Technology-Enabled Problem Solver: You have a history of using data and modern tools to improve workflows, partnering cross-functionally and with vendors to implement at scale. You are comfortable with prompting for LLMs / AI workflows. To be clear, no coding or engineering background is required.
    • Strategic Mindset: You’re scientific and data-obsessed; you break down business challenges and develop structured plans using a range of value levers (e.g., process, culture, organisational design, automation, AI).
    • Self-Starter: You have an unyielding bias for action and are a self-starting problem solver who thrives on a challenge.
  • Desirable / Nice-to-Have Experience
    • Executive Leadership: Comfortable partnering with the executive team and inspiring / influencing a range of stakeholders.
    • Automation & AI Tools: Familiarity with AI and automation tools such as n8n, Zapier, Make, and enterprise RPA platforms like UiPath or Power Automate.
    • Manufacturing or SaaS Experience: Experience in manufacturing or SaaS / software.

What we offer

We offer a competitive salary of approximately £120,000 to £160,000 per annum for this senior, hands-on role. As a key leader in a new and critical function, you will have a significant impact and autonomy from day one, with immense career growth potential as you help define the future of operations at CloudNC. While the role is based in London, we offer flexibility; we value in-person collaboration a few days a week to work closely with the COO and cross-functional teams.
