Wanted – Product Leader with UI/ UX experience
MoneyPlus, a Manchester-based financial services company and TPC client, is looking for an experienced product leader to guide and mentor its in-house team. They have a small team of ops people and engineers redesigning the user experience, with no in-house UI/ UX expertise. So they need some inspiration, plus hands-on guidance, on their user journey.
Likely a few hours per week for a few weeks. Paid. Remote is fine, but the odd visit to Manchester would be helpful.
Please let me know if you are suitable and interested (and make sure your TPC profile is up to date).

Following on from yesterday’s post about reading…
I’ve just added up how many pages I’ve read from personal development & business development books in the past year.
Since starting my PD book journey exactly a year ago today, I’ve read… 10,300 pages!
(And that’s not counting the books I read more than once!!)
So I asked ChatGPT for some reference points…
Movies Watched: If we assume an average movie is about 2 hours long, you’ve read the equivalent of 515 hours of movie watching. That’s about 21 full days of movies nonstop!
Distance Traveled by Car: If each page represents a “step” in a long road trip and you take 100 steps per mile, you’ve read enough pages to cover 103 miles.
Words Read: On average, there are about 250-300 words per page. That means you’ve read roughly 2.575 to 3.09 million words in a year!
Wowwwww!!
Anyone else on a reading journey?

Fantastic meeting in Milan. Thanks to the connection made on TPC, Marilena Viotto. It was likely meeting an old friend rather than a new acquaintance! Thank you Marilena Viotto for the great conversation and the coffee!
I’m looking forward to our next meeting and to the ideas we will develop together!

Hey
I’m Mark – Co-Founder of Betterspace, and we’re on a mission to improve employee physical, mental and financial health – giving people the freedom, choice and privacy to support themselves through our Wellbeing marketplace.
I’d love to chat with anyone who is dealing with organisational health and wellbeing challenges (it could be now, or on a past project). For context; we’re a SaaS business with a strong core of users and great customers (mostly culture conscious business leaders or People/ HR teams) using a live product – we see great levels of activity and customer retention too.
As I think about the next stage of our growth I’ve spent the last few months considering the core problems we’re solving and what kinds of organisations really need this support today.
I’d love to lean on the support of the TPC community to validate our direction and learn where employee health and wellbeing is seeing inve…

Hi Mark, I’m curious to know if you’re also exploring intergenerational challenges or the struggles young people are facing in today’s uncertain world – especially around anxiety, disconnection and isolation.
-
Hi Viotto, I think intergenerational challenges are a challenging problem, and on the rise, for workplaces – in short; yes we are!
I think there is a part of the challenge that is really a communication and collaboration problem – where generations need the support and the headspace to change and work better together. Today’s uncertain world, coupled with the focus on performance, is not leaving that space for this change.
On the other hand I also think that the rise in r…

Hi Mark,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful response — I couldn’t agree more.
Communication and collaboration across generations truly require intentional space and support, which are often sacrificed in today’s fast-paced, performance-driven environments. I also share your concern about the loneliness and disconnection affecting younger generations, especially in remote or hybrid settings. That’s exactly why I’m passionate about building intergenerational bridges between educ…

Coming from a People & Talent background, the inclusion of a Rewards & Recognition feature in your offer makes me very excited!
Highlighting success (whatever that means to an individual) and giving the opportunity for peer to peer kudos seems to me to be such an essential part of maintaining employee satisfaction which, in turn, has a huge impact on general wellbeing. We’ve all had those moments in which we’ve been massively buoyed by a thank you, so anything that facili…

Hi Mark,
thank you for sharing this. Betterspace really caught my attention!
I’m transitioning from a neuroscience research career into behavioural science, coaching, and mental wellbeing. Over the years, I’ve become increasingly passionate about how people function and flourish in high-pressure environments, especially in science and academia.
I’m currently training as an NLP Practitioner, writing about mental health and behavioural change, and recently I’ve parti…

Hi Bojana – that sounds interesting! Supporting wellbeing, particularly within high pressure or performance focused settings, is a focus of our messaging.
Definitely worth staying connected; I’ve just added you.

Hey lovely people
Just wanted to share something I’m running that might hit home for a few of you.
I’ve had a lot of conversations recently with fractional consultants, portfolio professionals, and solopreneurs who all say the same thing:
“I’ve had some great clients… but if I’m honest, it’s mostly been referrals. And I’ve no idea where the next one is coming from.”
→ Been there.
→ Lived the anxiety.
→ Drank the extra coffee.
So I’ve put together a free live workshop for Tuesday 6th May (6:30pm UK time) where I’ll walk through the system I built to stop that feast & famine cycle — and start building a more predictable pipeline.
No pitch.
No fluff.
Just the real strategy that helped me take control of my business.
If you’re trying to move from “project hunter” to “pipeline builder”, it might be up your street.

Hey, everybody!
I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend! Personally, I am now made of 80% chocolate easter eggs.
I wanted to share a win from my new years resolution bingo chart (yes I have a bingo chart this year!
)
I just hit book 16 in my 50 personal development book challenge! Yippee!! This is one book a week or 45 mins + reading a day. I’ve absolutely adored it. My favourite book has been: the gap and the gain by Dr Hardy.
What’s your favourite personal development or business book recommendation? Or are you reading any good books at the moment?

There are too many to say haha!
My favourite one is trying a new hobbie each week. So far I’ve driven teslas, went for a sea swim (VERY cold!), went to the sauna (VERY hot
), went dream building and looked at £3 mil homes, created art work for my walls! Cor I feel like i’ve lived a hundred lives this year haah! Are you working towards any cool projects?
