Company Overview

Optimi is an intelligent, digital sports medicine platform backed by professional athletes and top clinicians. We help fitness enthusiasts reach expert care and enable clinicians operating in elite sport to deliver care remotely to everyday athletes.

Our medically certified platform, accessible via an app, allows users to access interactive self managed injury treatment and prevention programmes, or work 1:1 with top sports medicine professionals. The platform provides clinicians with a suite of tools designed to support remote diagnosis and treatment, making care more accessible, informed & scalable.

Our clinical expertise is led by the Former Head of Medical Performance at the NSW Waratahs and by the Head Doctor of the Australian Rugby Team. Our mission is to make world class sports medicine accessible to all, regardless of athletic ability.

We have recently launched in the UK with England Athletics and Alistair Brownlee’s fitness tech platform, Brownlee Fitness. We’re now focusing on building and engaging our early community to help activate these partnerships and inform the development of our product roadmap.

Role – Community builder, ambassador and social manager

We’re looking for a community builder who has a passion for health and fitness.

Community development
  • Create and deliver the plan to build and engage with our early community. The primary goals of this community are to:
    • help activate existing partnerships, ideally with a scalable model we can replicate with new partners
    • increase brand visibility and trust in targeted audiences
    • support distribution of the product (the Optimi app) to acquire new paying users
    • enable us to listen and learn from early paying users to ensure we’re building features and services that are really wanted and needed by our members.
  • We’re open to exploring tactics and will look to you for guidance, however we have identified the following activity we believe should be at the core of the community development plan:
    • Create and deliver our ambassador program – see below
    • Engage with partners to identify and deliver community building initiatives
    • Attend select running and fitness events – identify and attend relevant events with an ‘Optimi stand’ to help build community, improve visibility and aid distribution

Ambassador program set up and management
  • Design and deliver our ambassador program (an early version of this is up and running and includes everyday athletes and coaches, England Athletics coaches, GB athletes and an Olympian).
  • Identify and onboard ambassadors through targeted outreach
  • Oversee delivery of the program including ambassador rewards and community building events such as webinars / Q&As with our clinicians
  • Advise on tools and platforms that may be used to support the program when the budget permits

Social management
  • Create marketing content for our social channels with an initial focus on FB/Insta. Marketing content creation will be supported by our clinical team and our ambassadors
  • Create monthly content calendar for review and post content to our social channels
  • Data analytics – advance our ability to examine our marketing funnel by helping us to improve our data collection, presentation and analysis so that we can examine the success of our efforts; zone in on what’s working and fix the things that aren’t.

Previous Experience

  • Previous experience building online communities with early stage brands and ambassadors is a must. Ideally you will have built a community from scratch
  • Experience with affiliate marketing is a must and ideally this includes B2B2C partner activation
  • Previous experience creating and posting engaging content for social channels in the health and fitness space. We’re looking for someone who understands the way consumers engage with online content and the factors which drive visibility on social platforms
  • An understanding of the innovation cycle – ie a methodical approach to experimenting and learning. This will include some variation of: research, hypothesis, action, measure, learn. This is essential.
  • Startup experience is preferred – working with big well established brands is very different to working with startups!
  • Problem solving mindset – community building is challenging, we’re looking for someone who will ride the ups and downs and will experiment their way to success. Experimentation is key!
  • Bonus points if you belong to a sports / health / fitness community! You’ll find it a lot easier to understand and reach our early members if you are already part of a fitness community.

Compensation

  • We’re open to either a full time role or a contractor position with pay based on experience and the delivery of key milestones.

Optimi is an early stage start up: the sort of individuals who typically thrive in early stage ventures are people who enjoy having autonomy, love solving challenges and want to contribute to a mission they really align with. If this sounds like you, we’d love to have a chat.
