Trojan Energy

Background

Trojan Energy was founded in 2016 by Ian Mckenzie, Hugh MackenzieSandy Thom, following their extensive experience in the energy industry.  Trojan Energy’s mission is to ensure that everyone can benefit from the energy transition. Electric vehicle charging for households without a driveway can be expensive, unreliable and inconvenient so Trojan has developed a solution that offers the convenience of fast and affordable on-street charging without creating a negative impact on the built environment.

The Role – Marketing Advisor

Trojan has developed and released their on-street charging solution and has now started rolling out the infrastructure in partnership with a number of London Boroughs.

With chargers now available for use, increased focus is being given to consumer adoption of the Trojan solution. The team has identified that the customers who are seeking this solution are hyperlocal to each charging cluster. This means campaigns must be developed to increase demand at a hyperlocal level to each cluster.

Trojan are therefore looking for help ideating hyperlocal marketing approaches, particularly offline. Working with Dave Henry, who is now leading the marketing activity with Trojan Energy, you will help to generate approaches and initiatives, that will drive demand generation for the Trojan solution. The marketing team is focused across the acquisition, engagement and retention of customers, measured by kWh of usage per day.

This engagement will initially focus on idea and concept generation, perhaps through delivering workshops with the team. The primary area of focus will be to support identifying the most commercially appropriate and viable ideas, and building out these initiatives, with clear guidance on best practice. Follow-up will then be to remain as an advisor to the marketing team, helping to review impact and success as they move forward and acting as a sounding board for future plans and opportunities.

The key responsibilities of the role include the following:

    1. Idea Generation/Review. Work with the team to generate ideas for hyperlocal marketing initiatives and build on those already developed, identifying those which are commercially viable and the required resources.
    2. Campaign development. This is the key area of support. Support the team in turning ideas into actionable campaigns.
    3. Developing success metrics. Work with the team to build a test and learn strategy and identify key success metrics by which to measure the success of the campaign.
  • Mentoring/Advisory. Identifying, researching and testing new/alternative product propositions to be incorporated into the offering to market.
