Hi, I’m Monica – part strategic HR leader, part chaos-tamer, part straight-talker.
I’ve spent 20+ years as a People exec helping companies in the US and EU grow without losing their people or their minds. I’ve built teams from scratch, led reorgs that actually worked, and created compensation strategies that make sense to both the CFO and the newest hire.

MoneyPlus, a 200-person financial services company that helps consumers tackle problem debt, is looking for a fractional FP&A leader for the next 2-3 months, until their new FP&A hire joins. The right person needs to be able to hit the ground running, and ideally has worked in the B2C Finance industry, or another regulated industry. Experience in PE-backed companies is a plus.
The role is remote, with occasional trips to Manchester. Target day rate £650-750, though they might stretch a bit higher for the right candidate.

So, hi 👋 I’m the founder of Generalist World, a community + learning platform for people with non-traditional, squiggly careers.
I go by ALOT of titles. Creator. Speaker. Writer. Podcaster. Community builder. Startup advisor (generalist is just more efficient! lol)
For 3yrs I’ve been building the GW movement (has been called a cult 😂) which now has 100,000 in our global network. I live, work and play from a remote island in the Scottish Highlands (pop: 191).

Regarding a ‘portfolio business’, I hadn’t heard that phrase used in this way. Typically, if I hear this phrase, it is investors talking about one of the companies in their portfolio of investments.
