I’m just over 6 months into the new job, and living in a new town. (Lowestoft, UK.) It’s a relief to get to this point.
As mentioned before, I’m working as a trainee Heritage Officer.
For the past few months, I’ve been trying to keep going, despite any scepticism, misunderstanding or negativity in the office.
And despite my own self doubt and imposter syndrome. These, plus overwhelm and exhaustion. I feel too gaffe prone, or inexperienced.
I’m mainly on my own, with no regular interaction with like minded peers. There aren’t enough people to sound off with, or cooperate with.
I meet weekly, with the freelance Heritage Manager, who is training me. These meetings are very much to the point, and about completing projects or tasks.
I lose sight of the bigger picture, caught up in multiple Trello to do lists. I have to list every small task I do, with dates for completion.
My six month review pointed out my admin and tech skills, bei…

Thanks for sharing your story John – I completely get how you’re feeling! It’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day tasks, which is why it’s important to make time to focus on the things you’re passionate about. I’d love to hear more about your Stories from the Sea exhibition! Let me know if you’d like to catch up and have a chat 🙂
And please share more pictures of your work! I’m sure more of the TPC community would love to see what you…

No problem. Thanks, Stephanie Dotto . I know what I’m passionate about. At the same time, I’m honestly not sure how to get things unstuck. I bought an art and business course, recently. It explains how to organise and promote your artwork, in order to make more of a living out of it.
I feel like I’m missing something, though.
Thankyou, it would definitely be good to have a catch up and a chat.
I will definitely share more, on here!

Looking for:
People who may need research to shape client-facing work
Background:
I’ve been supporting a consultant by digging into trends, doing market research and creating presentations.
I’m wondering if anyone else may need research support?
Potentials:
Coaches, consultants, trainers and content creators.
I’d love to have a chat (just messaging is fine, no need for a zoom call).
Thanks and hope to see you all in real life soon.

Recently, I helped my friend to build a portfolio website with $200. How?
I have created a beautiful website for a small amount of money. This does not mean that the quality of the website has decreased, but rather that I have used strategies that have reduced its cost.
He had already bought a domain that cost about $15 (1year).
And he paid me $200 to do his job.
He didn’t have to spend any hosting because I used Netlify hosting and integrated the domain there.
As a result, he was relieved of the hosting costs of $300 to $400 per year.
I have helped many of my friends and clients in the same way, and I have even used this strategy myself.
The reason for sharing this story here is that there are many friends here who want to create a portfolio website but are unable to do so due to the high cost. If you want, I can help you, send me a direct message.

Well done, Matt, for doing all the heavy lifting. It would be fantastic if as many people as possible could come along.
I know a lot of people dislike networking and meeting new faces even the word networking can make you shudder, but this is a great chance to practise getting over those nerves. The TPC is a really friendly bunch, and I guarantee that Matt, Maleka and I will welcome you with big smiles.

Thanks for organising this Matthew Jones – see you there!

Thanks for the tag Maleka Dattu – just trying to work out if I can get child care sorted as I have a few other things on that week in the evening. Will try my best though.

What I’d like to share is a simple and effective strategy for building a beautiful portfolio website for under £500 ,, and the best bit is, there are no ongoing hosting fees.
Feel free to drop me a message or leave a comment if you’re interested. I won’t message anyone directly ,, I’ll only reach out to those who genuinely want the details.
