My model blends recurring support (bookkeeping + financial insight) with project-based advisory for those who are scaling, fundraising, or navigating change.

I’m finally getting around to explore this wonderful platform. Great to see that you actually meet up in real life (which is the most important part for the wine part). We’re planning a TPC webinar on Angel Investing, and we want to ensure it addresses your questions. Angel investing can be exciting, but also confusing.
We’d love to hear directly from our members who are angel investors, or have thought about it:
– What aspects of angel investing do you find most confusing or intimidating? (e.g., legal terms, SEIS/EIS, tax implications, risks?)

As a female founder and investor I’ve experienced angel investing from both sides of the table. Getting the relationship right is just as important as the money, creating value for all parties. As an investor you get to meet some really interesting founders and explore businesses and sectors beyond your usual scope. Financial returns will take a long time (if ever) but the learning, networking and growth opportunities are also super valuable. I’m happy to share my experience.

Happy to contribute and share as well. I find UK/US/Europe tax treatments and implications quite challenging (being American living in the UK) as well developing a solid framework to ensure a robust due diligence process

Happy to be of any help on funding or investing side as have done a lot myself – my biggest tip is spread over a wide area every rather than just a couple as no one is a certainty in angel investing

I can add color in terms of how to get started … and what has worked for me, ie. Outreaches and networks, investment sector focus, my personal DD, long-term process of fund commitment and results. There is definitely confusion of terms offered ie. equity vs convertible notes.
