About Space Genie

SpaceGenie is a new venture being launched by Intriva. A storage solution business based in Germany it is on track to revolutionise the storage industry in Germany with a digital-first operating and service model. The first sites were launched earlier this year with plans for 5 more sites in 2024 and plans to build and operate more than 50 self-storage facilities across Germany, representing one of the largest platforms of its kind in the country. 

Offering remote fulfilment and support SpaceGenie will be operating a tech first business model offering a number of different storage solution models across the German market.

The team within Intriva leading the development of the business include Managing Partner Simon Finn. The recently appointed senior management team within SpaceGenie include Chief Investment Officer Steffen Kluners, who has proven experience in a high-growth operation in this industry within Germany.  and Managing Director, Juergen Hobrecker

To support growth plans we are hiring an experienced Head of Marketing to lead on the delivery of our marketing plans.

The Role – Head of Marketing

SpaceGenie has been working with a Marketing Consultant to develop a marketing strategy for the launch of their first sites. This has been primarily digital-led and has been supported by a test-and-learn framework to underpin marketing strategies moving forward

 

The opportunity is now for a Head of Marketing to build and lead a high–performing marketing function and lead on the execution of digital strategies developed so far as well as expand the channel mix offline. We’re looking for someone with experience in the world of start-ups and scale-ups with a strong desire to roll their sleeves up and deliver. 

 

You will report to Marco Metge, and over time will have responsibility for building a team. You’ll also be supported by a fractional CMO, a seasoned marketing veteran who will provide strategic guidance and mentorship.

 

The key responsibilities of the role include the following:

  1. Delivering key digital marketing initiatives. Building on the recently formed strategy you will continue to deliver key digital marketing activities in line with the recently concluded test and learn phase
  2. Develop off-line marketing activities. You’ll build on the strategy developed for digital marketing to develop a series of offline campaigns and initiatives.
  3. Brand Building. Building the brand and demand generation from scratch.
  4. SEO. Continuously refining our SEO to support organic growth.
  5. Data & Insights. Leading work on mining data to understand and respond to key drivers of supply and demand.

Experience and Skills

Your experience and profile will include the following:

    • Digital Marketing. Hands-on experience with SEO, digital, and social media management.
  • Offline Marketing. Hands-on experience developing offline marketing campaigns and leading on execution
  • Start-up Marketing. Ideally a blend of B2B and B2C experience. You’ll have demonstrable experience of delivering in a start-up or scale-up environment. 
  • Project Management. Top-level project management and communication skills, including working with stakeholders and external resources to deliver project objectives.
  • High EQ. You can work effectively with direct reports, peers, senior stakeholders and external agencies.
  • Drive to Succeed. A motivated self-starter able to work independently at pace.
  • Based in Germany. You’ll be living in Germany and able to travel to the office in Frankfurt.

The following would also be positive:

  • Industry Experience. Some experience working in storage or a comparable, predominantly B2B market. 
  • Building From Scratch. Experience as the first marketer in an early-stage tech company.
  • Demand Generation. You’ll be experienced in generating demand for a new product launch.

Remuneration

  • Annual salary in the range of EUR 65-85k

Location

  • You’ll need to be based in Germany and able to visit the Frankfurt office regularly.
