What I offer
Leadership and Teamwork skills
Leading a successful trading and risk management team for diverse and complex assets within an investment bank demands extremely well developed teamwork and collaboration skills in order to bring a broad array of often competing stakeholders to a consensus. This is one of my strengths.
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
I thrive on constructing financial models of organizations. I build powerful yet user-friendly models that deliver actionable, scenario-based insights. These tools not only inform strategic decisions but also elevate stakeholder confidence in the company’s financial direction.
Financial Modelling
My FP&A skills are rooted in Excel where I have deep knowledge of functionality, VBA, Power Query etc. to create intuitive, flexible and scalable tools including:
* Integrated 3-Statement models
* Cash Flow forecasting
* KPI analysis for strategic planning
* Variance analysis
* Scenario analysis
Capital markets knowledge
My career in investment banking has been tremendously rewarding, offering rapid development across a wide range of critical skills. Operating in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment has honed my abilities in negotiation, time management, stakeholder communication, and performance under pressure.
What I am looking for
I'm seeking to join a dynamic, smaller business in a trusted (fractional) Finance role—and potentially as an investor—where I can apply all my experience and skills above to become part of a sustainably growing and profitable team.
Interesting thing about me
I was captain of the UK 'Japanese Kempo' team that competed in Osaka, Japan (many years ago!)
Experiences
CREDIT SUISSE, London 2010 – 2020 Director, Structured Credit Trading
Senior trader in fixed income and derivatives. Personally designed & built a highly sophisticated Excel model that enabled the bank to close one of its biggest trades - a £1BN funding trade of esoteric assets.
UBS, London 2006 - 2008
Head of illiquid credit trading. I believe that as a trader you need to understand where every single cent of P&L and risk comes from. So it was imperative for me to developed and code the bank’s front office, Excel-based, derivative pricing, risk management and marking systems myself.
Barclays Capital 1997 - 2006
My knowledge and experience allowed me to lead the bank into many of its more complex and profitable trades. For example, I led the creation of an innovative Exchange Traded Fund (“iShares”) from a trading perspective which grew into a monster and was eventually sold to Blackrock.
