SVP Sales, Digital Financial Services (DFS), Africa
Responsible for all business development activities in Africa and the global international development sectors, with a focus on Cash Transfers to Displaced Persons, Identity for Development (ID4D) and DFS in Africa. Clients included The World Bank, Omidyar Network, UK Government’s DFID.
Delivered a pilot service that delivered in excess of US$19 million in cash transfers to 500,000 farmers in in Northern Nigeria. At its peak, the GES-TAP platform was used to register more than 10,000 farmers per day in areas with no or limited electricity and communication services.
Recruitment, management of account managers focused on Payment Schemes, Issuers, Acquirers, Mobile and Transit Operators. Established formal sales processes; set individual targets; validated account plans; supported individual sales activities; and commercial negotiations within all key accounts.
Worked with Barclaycard, Telefonica O2, Transport for London and Visa to obtain agreement on pilot to assess customer experience delivered by train ticket loaded onto an NFC-enabled phone. Sold technical architect, mobile application build, testing and information security services to all parties.
