Business plans and modelling (financial I'm afraid)
Strong financial modelling skills developed over the years but my key skill is translating and summarising outputs into salient and digestible information for my clients. I have provided cashflow and funding modelling for several start ups and used these to help write business plans.
Business / Financial optimisation
I really dislike inefficiency so I've always sniffed it out and acted quickly to make changes. My experience as a FD and MD allows me to balance operational / strategic / people considerations with the the financial implications, giving me an holistic view when making business changes.
Experiences
CFO / FD roles in listed and SME
15+ years working in a range of finance roles from training at KPMG to my current fractional FD role at a UN backed ESG org. I've experienced most things; from growing to reorganising finance teams, improving reporting & analytics, capital raising, due diligence, cost transformation etc.
Fund raising advice
Worked with several businesses including an AI start up to help create a business plan & a social enterprise prop tech org on cashflow modelling and funding advice
5+ years experience in corp. finance (buy & sell sides) + due diligence for clients incl. a large gym owner and a data centre owner.
Turnaround and Transformation expertise
Significant experience on transformation projects particularly at BT where I improved annualised profitability by c £30 m through process optimisation and revenue enhancement. I have also lead turnaround projects for family offices that have yielded operational and financial improvements
Board Advisory - Trustee and NED
Experienced working at Board level in SMEs, as FD / MD, developing a strong understanding of governance. As Treasurer and Trustee of a start up conservation based charity in East Sussex also familiar with charity law. I have also recently been appointed as an NED for an HR tech business
Wild swimming
I've tried Triathlon but my chicken legs let me down, so I'm focused on swimming, particularly in the wild where I feel really connected to nature. I've raced in the UK and next year am hoping to complete the iconic Bosphorous swim. Closer to shipping containers than nature but should be fun!
