Background:
Optimi is a digital sports and exercise medicine platform backed by professional athletes and top clinicians. Our mobile platform helps individuals reach expert care and provides clinicians with a suite of tools designed to support remote diagnosis and treatment. We’re just entering the UK market through partnerships with sports governing bodies (England Athletics) and fitness tech (Brownlee Fitness). We’re also running an R&D pilot with the British Army.
Role:
Primary Goal: Secure our first 1k paying users – this is the priority
Secondary goal: Identify scalable go to market channels – this is a nice to have
Working directly with Piers Shotter, the Founder & CEO, the purpose of this project is to secure our first 1k paying users through Optimi mobile app downloads and subscriptions. This will help us prove our partnership model works and will also enable us to secure greater product feedback from paying users. Additionally, this key step will support our next funding round, enabling us to begin to build out our marketing team.
You will have complete freedom to experiment with any channel and any technique, the key goal is to secure these first 1k paying users. We’ll discuss our learnings so far in our initial conversations and will be very interested to hear your approach. As a minimum, we would want to see the following channels tested:
- Work with England Athletics (EA) and Brownlee Fitness to activate their member base
- Create Optimi ambassador program to support partner member activation and new user acquisition. We have one EA running coach who is keen to participate in this program once established.
- Test influencer collaboration
- Test Google ads
- We also have $750 credit of meta ads which can also be spent on the project
You will own the project from start to finish, meaning you’ll create any content, run ads, optimise landing pages and app store profiles to enable the growth hacking. We’ll support in any way we can (we have blogs created by our clinicians and we have an intern who can help build landing pages and make modifications to our website).
Skills and experience
- You must have experience with activating partnerships or securing users directly for a consumer app, ideally in the fitness/health/wellness industry.
- Logical and analytical approach. We need to be able to understand the experiments we’re running so that we can learn from our actions and their subsequent results. If you’re familiar with the start up space this will be nothing new to you (act, measure, learn).
- Problem solver – it’s highly unlikely your plan will go exactly as expected! We’re very comfortable with this and will be expecting you to continually test and adjust so we can learn from the actions you’re taking
- Startup experience preferred – we’re looking for someone creative, who enjoys having the freedom to experiment and is excited by seeing their actions deliver real impact to early stage teams.
Budget and Compensation
We have £10k available for this project. You have the freedom to allocate this spend as you see fit; the budget will cover your own compensation and the cost of running experiments and securing new users. Feel free to tap into your own network or into fiverr etc for additional support (eg perhaps for graphic design etc). Once we’ve spoken, we’ll be keen to see a breakdown of your planned spend.
Timelines
We’re looking to start the project asap and will discuss your estimated timelines for project completion once you’re read in and have had a chance to consider the details.
Ongoing opportunity
We’re building out our team and are always looking for enthusiastic individuals who have the ability to drive things forward. If the project is a success there will certainly be the option to discuss ongoing collaboration.
